µVISION: CAN'T EXECUTE CX51.EXE

QUESTION

I'm trying to use the µVision IDE for the Philips MX architecture and I receive the following error message when I compile my program:

--- Error: can't execute 'C:\Keil\C51\BIN\CX51.EXE'

What's going on?

ANSWER

The Philips MX tools:

• AX51: MX51 Assembler
• CX51: MX51 Compiler
• LX51: MX51 Linker

are available only in the PK51 Professional Developer's Kit. If you have the CA51 or DK51 kits, you must upgrade to the PK51 to get the MX assembler, compiler, and linker.
