RTX166: OS_GET_BLOCK GIVES WARNING 20 (DATA TYPES DIFFERENT)

  • C166 Version 4.03
  • RTX166 Version 3.10a

SYMPTOMS

When creating an RTX166 program using the V3 RTX166 with the V4 C Compiler, the following warning message is output from the L166 linker:

*** WARNING 20: DATA TYPES DIFFERENT
    SYMBOL:  os_get_block
    MODULE:  Sample.obj (SAMPLE)

CAUSE

This warning message is generated because the return types have changed between version 3 and 4.

RESOLUTION

You may safely ignore this warning as it has no dangerous side effects.

The problem will be solved when RTX166 Version 4 is available later this year.
