Information in this article applies to:

  • C51 Version 5.50

QUESTION

The Cypress EZ-USB features dual data pointers. How can I enable the compiler to use the second data pointer?

ANSWER

The EZ-USB chips provide dual data pointers. The compiler directive required to support them is MODDP2.

To enable this in µVision 1:

  • Go to Options -> C51 Compiler
  • Click on the 'Chip' tab
  • Select Dallas (MODDP2) from the drop-down list

To enable this in µVision 2 and later:

  • Go to Project-> Options for Target
  • Click on the 'Target' tab
  • Check the box next to 'Use multiple DPTR registers'
