I modified the C51 file-specific options for one file in my Project, and the 3 brown (or are they red?) dots appeared as expected. http://www.keil.com/support/docs/1851.htm I then clicked the 'Defaults' button, which set all the options back to the appropriate defaults but did not remove the 3 brown dots. How can I remove the 3 brown (or red?) dots, which are now lying?
Hi Andrew, it is as you said. Once the brown (red?)dots appeared they will never disappear. In my eyes this feature is absolutely superfluos. ...Leo
If it worked properly, it'd be useful. What seems to happen is this: When you fiddle with the options for a specific file (or group?) uVision creates an 'Options' section for it in the Project (.uv2) file - it is the presence of this 'Options' section which causes the 3 dots to be displayed. When you press the 'Defaults' button, instead of just deleting the 'Options' section (which would restore the precise state of the project file before you fiddled), it goes through the 'Options' section explicitly setting each entry to its default value! Thus, because the 'Options' section is still present, the dots still appear! This seems like a double blunder on Keil's part: 1. they've given themselves all the extra work of going through & explicitly setting those default values; 2 it doesn't work properly! Doh!!! NEIDE again!
The next release fixes the problem with the 3 red dots.
So it does!
When is the next release available?
