Hello, I am using XC167CI of Infineon. I was programming the sotfware and I would like to have my code in the micro. How can I do that? I was reading the manuals and I was thinking to use OCDS control (JTAG) but I am not sure. Please, if someone can help me. Thanks.
Hello. I think you have to connect your DB9 port PC to another interface like DS14C232 to change the volts values from your PC to TTL values. You have to configure your micro in bootstrap loader and you can "download" your code with a tool like Memtool or Phytec. Regards
You have several choices, OCDS, CAN or ASC each needing design consideration. My preference would be OCDS (JTAG) which gives you both programming and debugging. You could get the ULINK from Keil (for USB) and of course there are other debugger vendors with different solutions. Alternatively you could also make (or buy one) a wiggler (just buffer chips and passive components) and then use the parallel port. Have a look to the following link. http://www.keil.com/support/man/docs/ocds166/ocds166_debug.htm You can find the schematic for the wiggler on the Infineon website under IP Core Licensing under the C166 MCU documents page.
