Hello, I'm testing an evaluation of Keil C51 v7.04 and i've got this problem when i complied my source.. Build target 'CPs8252 V2.0' compiling serial.c... compiling I2C.c... compiling main.c... linking... BL51 BANKED LINKER/LOCATER V5.02 - SN: Eval Version COPYRIGHT KEIL ELEKTRONIK GmbH 1987 - 2002 ".\serial.obj", ".\I2C.obj", "main.obj" TO "TestLCD128x64" IXREF RAMSIZE(256) CODE( 0X0000-0X1FFF ) XDATA( 0X0000-0X7FFE ) *** FATAL ERROR L213: I/O ERROR ON WORK FILE: EXCEPTION 0029H: ACCESS TO FILE DENIED Target not created What am i do wrong? this code can be complied in my friend's computer. I'm use Windows ME my friend used Windows98 is this different effected? what can i do to solv this? I'm readed from any available document from keil but i can't find any thing about this. The error message is ACCESS TO FILE DENIED. Therefore I guess, that you have write protected the target file ("TestLCD128x64" in this case). Hope this helps, Tim
This error indicates that the linker could not create a temp file. Check your temp and c51tmp specifications to be sure they point to valid paths. Make sure you have read/write access to the temp folders. Jon

I have same problem FATAL ERROR L213: I/O ERROR ON WORK FILE, I'm using Windows XP (on Windows 98 everythig is OK (with exactly the same settings))... I'm logged in as an administrator... There are no write protected files... I'm trying to build the sample HELLO.C... Write what you exactly did to make this thing running. Thanks!

It looks like you have incorrectly configured the TMP or TEMP environment variable on your computer. Take a look to: http://www.keil.com/support/docs/65.htm where there is more information provided.
