Confused about banked code linking

Hello, I'm using uVision3 building a RE2 project. I have read the artical in here http://www.keil.com/support/docs/2349.htm, but I'm just confused. Is there a difference between Bank 0 and Common? Why can't I use Merge32K Hex file when I have code in Bank 0? I read somewhere that Bank 3 is external. What does this mean? The RE2 has 128K of flash and I read in Atmel's website that I should use "Merge32K Hex" option, but the only way I can make this work is if I do not use Bank 0, but use Bank 3. Will Bank 3 be executed externally or internally in the RE2?
