AS you learning 8051. that mean's you are not knowning the assembly language. what about the "c"????? As per Viktor Bucher suggession, study the total detail's of the stepper motor.

you required it for collage project or for the hobby project ?

Don't go for the any kind of blind and short-cut work,

that will not help u in any manner

go through the following book it will solved your all problem,

******The 8051 Microcontroller and Embedded System***
************** Using assembly and c****************

""the code is also in this book""

If you're going to recommend a book, be sure to give at least the Author(s).

A full citation should include the Publisher and ISBN.

"Hopelessly outdated - 8 years in this area is an eon"

The principles will remain valid - after all, the so-called "bible" is dated 1995, but we don't dismiss that!

However any references to specific chips, as you say, should almost certainly be considered of historical interst only!

Who mentioned 8255...?! ;-)

c-learning bacis

do that on the PC, it is so much easier to learn on a unit that 'has it all'

I think it is easier to connect the 8051 to a computer port with the help of a serial cable.

In what way do you want the stepper motor to help to connect the 8051 to the computer port??

Are you trying to make a robotic plug inserter?!

be nice guys (I confess I was tempted too) the guy is trying his best English.

saqib;
nobody will help you with connecting a stepper motor in the form of giving you the code and schematic, that would be 'cheating'

You need to describe in detail
what you have done
what the problem with it is
which components you are using Micro, motor interface etc)

OK, isn't Jones supposed to be the definitive website on the subject:

http://www.cs.uiowa.edu/~jones/step/

And Silicon Labs have some App Notes all about motors
