Hi I'm using uVision 5 on a MSI PS42 laptop with Windows 10 64bit, core i7-8550u, 16Gb of ram. When I wrote my code, the ctrl+space shortcut and all the text-Completition functionality made my computer lags a lot and after few seconds freeze it.
I have to force shutdown or wait more than 10 minutes for the text completition to appear normally. If I try to recall again the text completition the lag and freeze's problems reappears.
At the moment disable all the text completition functionality from the options is the only "workaround" I can use right now.
Same problem with uVision4. All the rest of the program seems to work well.
Someone that have the same problem or can help??

Which MDK version are you using ? If it is not the latest one then download it from below link: http://www2.keil.com/mdk5/
Hi, I'm using uVision 5, mdk 5.26.2.0.
There is a pre-release mdk v5.27 that I downloaded and tried but nothing has changed, lag and freeze are still there.
Seriously , the only advice I can give is to avoid uVision as your main source editor. Roughly, no enhancement in 10 years (except debugging), Syntax higlighting is a pain. And according to your project structure, activating browsing information could increase your compilation time by 10. Not a joke. I set up a Eclipse project with Ninja/Cmake for building, and it's working quite well, except it s easier to debug on uvision due to the closed environnement of the ulink. ARM understand that (no ARM IDE)but it seems Keil will always be stuck with this old IDE with such limited functions...
What is happening with uVision nowadays? At work I use IAR, so I don't suffer from all those pretty terrible quality problems that seem to be associated with the product nowadays and reported here (I colleague that performed a port did indeed notice the slow build time issue though). Keil - fix this ASAP, come on !

I have been using ver 5.29 on W7 for a few years no issues. I upgraded my PC to W10 and now I am experiencing what looks like the same issue.
Usually at the start of a new line takes 5-10 sec before newly typed text to appear. sometimes it misses type characters.
Not good when using professionally.
Same here. I'm running Keil on a MSI Mobile Work Station with Win 10. I type a few characters and editor locks up for several seconds. Frustrating!
