How is this program uninstalled? uVision 2 C51 I think. Please don't say add/remove programs in the control panel, it doesn't work. HELP!
Vision 2 C51 I think.
I would hope that you know what you're trying to uninstall.
Does using such an old development environment give you a nice warm fuzzy feeling?
You can delete the whole installation directory.
The program was downloaded by mistake with some DriverFinder files. How do I find the the installation directory?
But just downloading it doesn't install it.
What makes you think that it is actually installed?
So what, exactly, does happen when you do that?
Right click and look at the properties of the icon or start menu item.
Likely in C:\Keil or something similar.
It is on the installed programs list.
C:\Keil\UV2\uv2.exe This is what the target looks like from properties. There is nothing in the Keil folder for uninstall.
Still unclear how it got to be there - again, downloading a driver shouldn't install anything.
And can't see any reason why any driver would need to install a cross-development IDE?!
You still haven't said what actually happens when you try add/remove programs in the control panel.
If you're sure you really don't want it, just delete the entire folder tree.
Andrew, When I click on uninstall for uVision in the control panel there is a brief bleep, but nothing else. The program is on the installed program list. The Keil folder has no uninstall exe. Maybe someone on this forum has uninstalled this program before.
You might just have to go and manually delete it. The software is a decade or so old, as best I can remember.
Perhaps whatever you used to install it didn't do more than a copy, it is really hard to tell with the level of detail provided, and whether this is even a legitimate installation. Or for that matter what version of Windows it is running on.
More like 2 decades.
Did anyone mention just deleting it ... ?
Yes, I have a recollection of mentioning it at the top.
It's not exactly rocket science.
