I use µVision 5. Installed at C:\Keil_v5
I have installed eclipse, JRE, MDK-ARM Version 5.11a and setup the MDK-ARM Plug.
But on eclipse the µVision icon is grayed out, but the µVision menu is visible.

What should I do?
I tried to install the plug-in from C:\Keil\Eclipse (this is where I have my µVision4 installation). And now the µVision icon is OK.
Is it that this plug-in only works with µVision4?
Note: The plug-in from C:\Keil_v5\Eclipse does not work even if I rename the folder to C:\Keil\Eclipse.
Hi Marko,
1) the µVision icon (toolbar button) itself is used only to show/hide µVision own GUI during debug session (µVision runs in background). The grayed state thus shows that no communication to running uVision exists. Eclipse framework does not always correctly sets initial button state.
2) The plug-in works with MDK-5 as well, but with Legacy Support installed (www2.keil.com/.../legacy). The plug-in does not support MDK-5 CMSIS-pack features.
3) The plug-in tries to find MDK installation via windows registry, falling to C:\Keil if registry search fails. This causes problems when multiple MDK versions are installed. You can set path to specific uVision executable using Windos->Preferences->uVision page.
I asked Keil support team, that the new version of MDK (such as v 5.12) does compatible with the older version of Eclipse plugin (that was part of older version of MDK) or not.
Their answer: MDK5 uses a new architecture for structuring and managing project - Run-time Environment. This is not yet covered by the Eclipse plugin we provided for MDK4. Maybe a new plugin will be available in the near future since our development team is currently working on it. But I cannot provide any schedule for this.
Bye, Frank
