Hey, all!
As some of you may know, Dallas released a new version of the 8051 core a while ago, it can be described as the 8051 PLUS (description here). From what I can see, it looks somewhat different. And as far as new features are concerned, it can now do fractions to solves equations, it has a complete random integer generator, 2 more registers for memory calculations (so 8 in the old one to 12 in the new one), and a new display interface, which apparently makes the input go all the way down to the bottom.
Has anyone tried this? I saw it for sale on ebay and must know if it is it all that better to shell out the 30 or so euros it costs?
Thanks in advance.
It's not cheap, but I'm sure the Government will buy it: www.youtube.com/watch
Does it also go up to 11 ?
i meant 10
Did you? Where?
I think Andy is wondering exactly what a display has with a processor core to do, and what it actually means for input to go "all the way to the bottom"?
That had at least me wondering.
2 more registers for memory calculations (so 8 in the old one to 12 in the new one)
IT IS NOT 12 IT IS 10
Whoever you are, don't you think it would make sense to mention the Part Number of this device that you're talking about?
Preferably, provide a link to the Manufacturer's product page(s).
Then we could see exactly what you're talking about - instead of having to puzzle about bizarre statements like, "makes the input go all the way down to the bottom" and "do fractions to solves equations"
I wanted to copy the weblink but I worried about copyright.
Now it has gone.
Eh???
If it's on the public internet, then there is no copyright issue with giving a link to it!!
The whole point of putting stuff on the internet is precisely so that people can see it!!
On the other hand, if the information is private, and is not on the public internet, then it is pointless asking people to discuss it in public!!
What is the Part Number of this device?
Where did you see the information?
It was on http://www.ebay.com but it has gone.
When i find it again I will write you the part number.
You said it was a Dallas (sic) product?
No. I said it was Dallas.
Yes, that's what I said - "Dallas".
So what did you mean by "Dallas"??
You do realise that Dallas Semiconductor no longer exists, don't you? They were taken over by Maxim many years ago, and Maxim stopped using the Dallas name some years later.
That's why I put "(sic)" - to indicate that "Dallas" seems incorrect.
dictionary.cambridge.org/.../sic
BLAH BLAH BLAH.
SHUT UP.
YOU NOW GIVE ME A HEAD ACHE.
FORGET I ASKED.
GOOD BYE.
Ho the morons, the morons...
