The support from Keil was very fast:
Dear Mr. Ziegler Beda,
sorry, but this compiler cannot be used under Windows 2000.
Windows 2000 can be used with C51 Version 5 or higher, but
not with C51 Version 4. C51 Version 4 is now about 10 years
old and I guess it is time to upgrade.
I hope this answer helps you. Let me know if you have further questions.
Best regards
Reinhard Keil

Be realistic. What were you expecting? Somthing like "Of we will upgrade your 10 year old product for for free to work under a platform that was never supported.".

We run this Compiler under Windows NT.
So we like to know, if there is a idea to run it under Win2000 with a special setting in the Win2000

I don't know about Win2k, but Win98 used to have a "Make Compatible" utility (mkcompat.exe?) to get dodgy old 16-bit software to work under Win98.
