Hi Friends,
Is there any ide for developing on mac and linux platforms.
Thanks srikanth
There are many multi-target IDE's for these platforms. From the old school emacs to more user friendly systems like eclipse.
A gcc port for the arm is widely available.
Remember, at it's heart, an ide is a text editor that is able to call a compiler.
Keil will run to some extent under wine on linux. I've had difficulty getting the processor loading with uvision2 usb-jtag device to work, but I haven't tried very hard either.
If you need to do any simulation, your best bet is likely going to be the 'run uvision under wine' option. If you can be more specific about you needs, I can point you in a more specific direction.

I am looking for some thing like
NXP - LPC2292 to work with. Keil on windows platform is a very good emulator... I wanted to have some thing similar in mac os x and linux.. linux mostly...
Is there any other thing for that... I mean any thing that can emulate LPC2292 on linux. I dont need an IDE.. I can do well with the normal command lines too.. can you please suggest.
Like I said, try installing keil under wine for simulation on a linux box. learn about wine here:http://www.winehq.org/
otherwise and additionally, check out the GNU-ARM toolchain here:www.gnuarm.com/home.html
check the resources tab for links to various simulators, on chip debuggers, etc.
Hey thank you so much,
one final question, Is it okay to run things on wine...
Does it not take up all the cpu resources ? I have tried running Internet Explorer on wine and it was very bad..
srikanth
I don't have a whole lot of experience with this, but it should run OK on a reasonably current computer. I think IE is a very bad test case for wine performance.
