Error messages are not reported in the output window when Build Target is selected. If there are no errors the assembling and linking is successful. However, if there is a syntax error, the output window says "Target Not Created" and does not report any error message. Why don't the errors and line numbers appear in the output window?
That's a good question. There is warning suppression in the tool if you want it, but I'm not sure if you can suppress errors messages. (if so, then maybe that's what's happening)

How are path and environment tools in uVision2 modified?
Check you directory structure for spaces in the name, the linker seems to have problems if you break dos 6.22 rules about naming convention. On the same note it's likely a bad idea to go over 8 chars names.
