Welcome to the first KEIL/ARM user group meeting in Montreal, an event that aims to bring engineers together to learn about the latest KEIL and ARM technologies. You'll have the chance to take a fast-paced technical deep dive into ARM's new Cortex-M7 memory system, learn how the latest ARM technology can help you take your projects to the next level, and exchange ideas with fellow engineers over a coffee.

Topics of Discussion:

1. What's New with KEIL and ARM Tools in 2015.

This session will give the user group an update of the new products and features of the ARM/KEIL development tools in 2015, with a focus on discussing safety-certified applications with the ARM Compiler Qualification Kit.

Speaker: Robert Campbell

Robert is the owner and operator of JORAL Technologies. JORAL Technologies has been an ARM/KEIL Distributor for 10 years. JORAL offers a wide range of embedded products which include design tools, safety critical tools, production tools, and embedded hardware products.

2. Boosting Performance with the New Cortex-M7 Memory System.

This session, presented by an ARM Accredited Engineer, offers a preview of the official ARM training on the latest Cortex-M7 microcontroller. It will cover the new M7 memory subsystem and explain how and why it's used. In particular, the creation and impact of a memory hierarchy using level-1 cache will be discussed in detail. The session will give developers a head start on producing next-generation products using the highest performance member of the Cortex-M family.

Speaker: Shaun Purvis

Shaun is the embedded specialist at Hardent, a design house for hardware and embedded software, and regularly trains engineers about ARM and Xilinx technologies. He carries over 10 years of engineering experience over a diverse range of applications including motor control, embedded Linux, and ITAR projects he can't talk about.

Agenda:

  • 8:30-9:00 - Coffee, Snacks, and Introductions
  • 9:00-9:30 - What's New with KEIL and ARM Tools in 2015
  • 9:30-10:45 - Boosting Performance with the New Cortex-M7 Memory System
