Workshop for Keil 8051 Development Tools

Plano, TX USA — May 20, 2010

Overview:

The Keil C51 tools speed up the successful development of 8051 embedded applications. This class begins with creating, linking, and debugging simple projects. Then slowly introduces advanced features and debugging techniques. Students will leave with an understanding of all tool features, and how to use Keil's advanced optimizations in your project.

Day 1:

  • Basic project overview
  • Linker options (code packing, placing code, etc)
  • Simulated peripherals (I/O, serial, timers, etc)
  • Creating signal functions
  • Creating automated test scripts
  • Debugging with complex breakpoints and triggers
  • Using Mon51 to debug on target

Day 2:

  • Special 8051 device support (far memory support, dual data pointers, etc)
  • Using inline assembly; mixing C and assembly
  • Using code and Xdata banking in a project
  • Improving project performance by adding a Real-Time Operating System
  • Writing optimal code for the 8051
  • Using compiler and linker optimizations

Who Should Attend:

  • R&D designers, engineers and programmers working on 8051 projects
  • Anyone that wants to understand the advanced features of the Keil Tools

About Keil Professional Developers Kit:

The PK51 Kit for the 8051 microcontroller family supports all 8051 derivatives including new devices with extended memory and instruction sets. For a full list of supported devices see link.

About µVision:

The µVision IDE is a Windows-based software development platform that combines project management, source code editing, program debugging, and flash programming in a single, powerful environment.
