Peripheral Simulation

For Infineon XC164GM-16F — Timer Block GPT1 (T2, T3, T4)

Simulation support for this peripheral or feature is comprised of:

  • Dialog boxes which display and allow you to change peripheral configuration.

These simulation capabilities are described below.

Timer/Counter 2 Dialog

Timer/Counter 2

The Timer/Counter 2 dialog allows you to view and change the SFRs associated with Timer/Counter 2. This timer/counter is a general purpose unit which may be used for timing, counting, and so on.

  • Mode contains the operating mode and the input selector for the timer.

Direction

  • T2UDE (External Up/Down Enable) is set to let T2EUD control direction.
  • T2EUD (External Up/Down Control Input) when T2UDE is set, this external input controls the count direction.
  • T2UD is the timer up/down control. It can also reverse the count direction selected in T2EUD, when T2UDE is set.
  • Direction displays whether the timer/counter counts up or down.

Status

  • Status displays the current status of the timer.
  • T2 contains the value of the T2 SFR which is the current timer value or count.
  • T2CON contains the value of the T2CON SFR which is the current configuration for Timer 2.
  • T2R (Timer 2 Run Flag) is set when Timer 2 is running.
  • T2IN is the Timer 2 External Input pin.
  • T2IR (Timer 2 Interrupt Request Flag) is set when the Timer 2 overflows.
  • T2EDGE (Timer 2 Edge Detection Flag) is set when a count edge is detected.
  • T2CHDIR (Timer 2 Count Direction Change Flag) is set each time the count direction changes.
  • T2IRDIS (Timer 2 Interrupt Disable Flag) is set to disable the Timer 2 Interrupt.
  • T2RDIR (Timer 2 Count Rotation Direction Flag) when set Timer 2 counts up, when reset, Timer 2 counts down. This flag controls direction when external up/down control (T2UDE) is not enabled.

Timer/Counter 3 Dialog

Timer/Counter 3

The Timer/Counter 3 dialog allows you to view and change the SFRs associated with Timer/Counter 3. This timer/counter is a general purpose unit which may be used for timing, counting, and so on.

  • Mode contains the operating mode and the input selector for the timer.

Direction

  • T3UDE (External Up/Down Enable) is set to let T3EUD control direction.
  • T3EUD (External Up/Down Control Input) when T3UDE is set, this external input controls the count direction.
  • T3UD is the timer up/down control. It can also reverse the count direction selected in T3EUD, when T3UDE is set.
  • Direction displays whether the timer/counter counts up or down.

Block Prescaler

  • BPS1 (Block Prescaler Control) selects the clock divider (4, 8, 16 or 32) for the general purpose core timer(GPT1).

Output

  • T3OTL (Overflow Toggle Latch) toggles when Timer 3 overflows or underflows.
  • T3OE (Overflow/Underflow Output Enable) is set to output the state of the Timer 3 toggle latch (T3OTL) on output pin T3OUT.
  • T3OUT (Timer 3 Output Pin) contains the state of the the Timer 3 output pin.

Status

  • Status displays the current status of the timer.
  • T3 contains the value of the T3 SFR which is the current timer value or count.
  • T3CON contains the value of the T3CON SFR which is the current configuration for Timer 3.
  • T3R (Timer 3 Run Flag) is set when Timer 3 is running.
  • T3IN is the Timer 3 External Input pin.
  • T3IR (Timer 3 Interrupt Request Flag) is set when the Timer 3 overflows.
  • T3EDGE (Timer 3 Edge Detection Flag) is set when a count edge is detected.
  • T3CHDIR (Timer 3 Count Direction Change Flag) is set each time the count direction changes.
  • T3RDIR (Timer 3 Count Rotation Direction Flag) when set Timer 3 counts up, when reset, Timer 3 counts down. This flag controls direction when external up/down control (T3UDE) is not enabled.

Timer/Counter 4 Dialog

Timer/Counter 4

The Timer/Counter 4 dialog allows you to view and change the SFRs associated with Timer/Counter 4. This timer/counter is a general purpose unit which may be used for timing, counting, and so on.

  • Mode contains the operating mode and the input selector for the timer.

Direction

  • T4UDE (External Up/Down Enable) is set to let T4EUD control direction.
  • T4EUD (External Up/Down Control Input) when T4UDE is set, this external input controls the count direction.
  • T4UD is the timer up/down control. It can also reverse the count direction selected in T4EUD, when T4UDE is set.
  • Direction displays whether the timer/counter counts up or down.

Status

  • Status displays the current status of the timer.
  • T4 contains the value of the T4 SFR which is the current timer value or count.
  • T4CON contains the value of the T4CON SFR which is the current configuration for Timer 4.
  • T4R (Timer 4 Run Flag) is set when Timer 4 is running.
  • T4IN is the Timer 4 External Input pin.
  • T4IR (Timer 4 Interrupt Request Flag) is set when the Timer 4 overflows.
  • T4EDGE (Timer 4 Edge Detection Flag) is set when a count edge is detected.
  • T4CHDIR (Timer 4 Count Direction Change Flag) is set each time the count direction changes.
  • T4IRDIS (Timer 4 Interrupt Disable Flag) is set to disable the Timer 4 Interrupt.
  • T4RDIR (Timer 4 Count Rotation Direction Flag) when set Timer 4 counts up, when reset, Timer 4 counts down. This flag controls direction when external up/down control (T4UDE) is not enabled.
