Peripheral Simulation

For Analog Devices ADuC7025 — Programmable Logic Array

Simulation support for this peripheral or feature is comprised of:

  • Dialog boxes which display and allow you to change peripheral configuration.

These simulation capabilities are described below.

Programmable Logic Array Dialog

Programmable Logic Array

The Programmable Logic Array Dialog simulates the built-in interconnected PLA blocks consisting of 16 PLA elements. Each element (ELM) is selected and then configured by clicking on the logic inputs and selecting the logical function from the Look Up Table (LUT) to achieve the desired logic output. You may select and configure the PLA using the following control groups:

ELM Selection List

One row in this list represents a logic element. Selecting a line changes the selected element display.

Selected PLA Element

Click on the black lines to "connect" or route the inputs to the logic element. Select the logic element from the LUT drop-down list.

  • PLAELMn is the numeric representation of the logic element selected LUT. n may be from 0 to 15.
  • PLADIN.n (Level In) is the logic level input for element n.
  • PLADOUT.n (Level Out) is logic level output from the PLA for element n.
  • LUT (Look Up Table) is used to select the logic device.

PLA Clock

  • PLACLK (PLA Clock Register) is the clock selection for the logic elements. It contains the following:
  • Block0 CLK selects the clock for block 0.
  • Block1 CLK selects the clock for block 1.

PLA Data

  • PLADIN (PLA Data In) is the composite data input.
  • PLADOUT (PLA Data Out) is composite data output from the PLA.

PLA Interrupt

  • PLAIRQ (PLA Interrupt Register) controls the following:
  • IRQ0 selects the element which will trigger IRQ0.
  • IRQ1 selects the element which will trigger IRQ1.
  • IRQ0 Enable is set when IRQ0 is triggered.
  • IRQ1 Enable is set when IRQ0 is triggered.

PLA ADC Start Conversion

  • PLAADC (ADC Start Conversion Register) controls the following:
  • ADC Start selects the element which will start ADC conversion.
  • Enable ADC Start is set to allow ADC conversion start.
