Application Note 235

Export Freescale Processor Expert Projects to µVision Projects

This Application Note describes the conversion of Processor Expert projects to µVision projects in order to use the advantages of both development systems and create applications for Freescale devices quickly.

Processor Expert is an Eclipse-based application to generate source code components for Freescale silicon. A component represents a hardware abstraction, a peripheral driver, a software algorithm (such as data encryption), or any logical collection of software functions. Components generated for Cortex-M processor-based devices can be further processed in MDK-ARM to build the project with the ARMCC Compiler, to flash, debug, and finalize the microcontroller application.

  • This remark applies to early versions of MDK-ARM 4.60 only! Higher MDK-ARM versions are not affected.
In case you experience issues with your MDK-ARM installation, please download the latest update of MDK-ARM.
